Herbal Supplement Class Action Suits – GNC, Target, Walgreens, Walmart

The law firms Weil Quaranta of Miami and Los Angeles and Babbitt and Johnson of West Palm Beach have filed a federal class action suit against General Nutrition Corporation, alleging deception in the herbal supplement market.

According to a recent cease and desist letters sent from the New York Attorney General, four well known retailers have been selling herbal supplements that failed to contain the principal ingredients identified on the label.

The following supplements were found to contain either no trace of the following ingredients or very little trace amount:

GNC : Herbal Plus brand

Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Echinacea, Saw Palmetto

Target: Up & Up brand

Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Echinacea, Saw Palmetto, Valerian Root

Walgreens: Finest Nutrition brand

Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, Echinacea

Walmart: Spring Valley brand

Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, Echinacea, Saw Palmetto
